MISSION STATEMENT
1. The recognition of the intrinsic value of
animals
All animals have their own intrinsic value. This means that
animals are independent beings, worthy of being respected for their own value
and not as a means to the end of others. The value of an animal cannot be
determined from its value for other beings. Therefore an animal should be taken
into account morally, and animals should be treated with respect as independent
beings with feelings, integrity and awareness.
2. Duty of care
It is man's duty,
regardless of cultural differences, to protect animals, to treat them well, to
develop an attitude of compassion and benevolence toward them, to respect their
freedom and quality of life, and to spare their lives as much as possible.
