BONAIRE HEINEKEN JAZZ FESTIVAL
MAY 25 - 26 - 27 - 28, 2006

Pressrelease feb 12 2006

After the great success of our festival in 2005 Bonaire will host another Jazz Festival in 2006: the Bonaire Heineken Jazz Festival 2006. The second annual Jazz Festival on Bonaire will take place on May 25, 26, 27 and 28.

The Festival offers a wide variety of jazzmusic - Latin-jazz , Caribbean, Salsa, Krioyo, Kaseko , straight modern jazz of today and a special: songs and poetry in Papiamentu with jazz.

Bonaire will be an island with music all over the place during this week, not only at main concerts on different splendid beach locations but also in cafes, bars and restaurants, starting at happy hour time until late night with concerts and jam-sessions.

Thanks to sponsors, musicians, friends and the Bonaire Jazz Foundation the island Bonaire seems to have created another regular event on top of existing events as Regatta, the Dive Festival and the wind surfing championship: King of the Caribbean.

May 25 is a festival day without admittance fee. It is the prelude to the main concerts and the center of Kralendijk will be full of musical attractions during this day. To keep thresholds low tickets for the main concerts on May 26, 27 and 28 will be sold for Naf 45 ($25) for the three concerts. The Bonaire Heineken Jazz Festival 2006 is organized by the Bonaire Jazz Foundation and her sponsors (see list below)
